I think this was the podcast where you talked about an adjustment period for your metabolism after under eating for a period of time when you begin eating more. I think I was accidentally under eating for a little over a year due to going Paleo/AIP to help food sensitivities and eczema. I started crossfit about three months ago have gained easily 10 to 15+ pounds after being a weight I was very comfortable at, had been at for some time and was a weight which I had returned to after two babies. I’m not certain how much I have gained because I don’t want to get on the scale anymore but I have gained two pant sizes. My question is how long does it take for your metabolism to normalize and not hold on to extra weight? I planned on carrying some extra muscle once I started crossfit but two full pant sizes has me a little freaked out!

Hi Kelli! This is a great question. Unfortunately, I don’t have an exact answer. I completely understand your thoughts and concerns, and I have so been there. In short, it takes time. I can say that I think it will happen more quickly the more you are able to manage both your mental and emotional stress, and maybe “let go” of being concerned with that number. Keep taking care of yourself, and your family, and focus on making your body more capable. I hope that helps a bit! <3
