Looking for honest Dime Beauty reviews? After testing dozens of clean beauty brands, I finally gave the products a try. Here is my list of the best Dime Beauty products—and which ones you should skip.
The clean beauty industry has grown tremendously in the last decade, and I love to see it. I’ve been passionate about safe and effective clean products free of known harmful ingredients for over a decade, and I love testing new, well-formulated products.
One of the companies that has taken off in recent years is Dime Beauty. The products are affordable and made with safer ingredients, and they’ve been very proactive with their social media marketing and partnerships.
After hearing a lot about Dime’s products, most notably the perfumes and eyelash serum, I purchased multiple products over a year ago. Now, after extensive experience with the brand, I decided to put together a comprehensive Dime Beauty review to share which products are a hit, and which are a miss. This is 100% unpaid and honest, so I’m giving it to you straight!

What is Dime Beauty?
Dime Beauty was founded in 2018 by husband and wife team Ryan and Baylee Relf who saw a need for clean, affordable skin care for women of all ages. Baylee Relf was so passionate about skin care formulations that she became a licensed Master Esthetician in 2015. This led her to team up with her husband, an expert in product development in skin care, to create Dime Beauty.
The company’s mission is to provide luxurious skincare and beauty products that are clean, effective, and approachable. They are 100% transparent about every ingredient included in their formulations, and the products are vegan and cruelty free. They launched a partnership with EWG in 2022, and have been featured on Ulta.com.
Is Dime a Clean Beauty Brand?
Dime Beauty is a clean beauty brand that proactively excludes any known harmful ingredients from their products. Most all of their ingredients and products rate 1-2 on the EWG Skin Deep Database, including the perfumes.
All products are free of endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, chemical sunscreens, parabens, phthalates, PEGs, retinols, and more. In 2022, Dime partnered with EWG to evaluate the safety of every ingredient in product formulations, including perfumes and proprietary peptide blends. This information is visible on each product page.
To be clear, Dime Beauty is not a “natural” skin care company, and they don’t claim to be. I used to think only natural was best, and even cleaned my face with coconut oil. After years of this, I realized there were some big flaws in my reasoning, especially concerning contaminants. Dime uses safe synthetic and natural ingredients, which is the sweet spot for people who want to use effective products free of known harmful ingredients that provide results.
As a special reminder: chemicals are not inherently bad. Everything is made of chemicals, including water, coconut oil, minerals, and you! The important thing when it comes to what you put on your body is to limit exposure to known harmful chemicals. That’s what the clean beauty movement and brands like Dime Beauty are trying to do.
EWG Ratings
In 2022, Dime Beauty partnered with EWG and rates each ingredient in each formulation. They also released EWG verified® products. While the EWG isn’t perfect when it comes to rating the safety of an ingredient, it’s a good place to start. Every product currently rates in the “low” category, which reflects the number of scientific studies about the product or ingredient in the published scientific literature.
For example, the highest rated ingredient I’ve seen in Dime products is phenoxyethanol (medium – 4), which is in the Hyaluronic Acid Serum. While the literature shows this preservative is safe and preliminary data shows it has no estrogenic activity, it has a higher rating for user restrictions. The EWG recommends not using it in products that are inhaled or applied to the lips. Because it’s used in such a low amount (under 1%) in a serum, it’s an EWG verified® product.
The transparency Dime provides on each and every product is pretty impressive. It gives the average consumer clear data each ingredient so they feel confident that what they are buying and putting on their skin is actually safe.
Dime Beauty Reviews: The Best Products
In general, I think Dime makes some solid products. They are positioned as an affordable brand, and they stay true to this. They use some of my favorite active ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, squalene, and salicylic acid. Dime Beauty is also great with sales and has active coupon codes. Here is a comprehensive review of my favorite Dime Beauty products:
1. Eyelash Boost Serum
One of the first products Dime produced in 2018 was their Eyelash Boost Serum. It’s one of the only clean eyelash serums on the market and is gentle on the skin. The formula is rich in amino acids and peptides, which improves length, density, and strength of hair.
The good:
- Easy to use and “paint” on the base of the eyelashes. Takes seconds to apply.
- It has collagen and evidence-based peptides including Myristoyl Pentapeptide-4 and Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1
- Great for all skin types. I have sensitive skin and this works well for me.
- Worked at strengthening my lashes. I had some weird kinky lashes and it resolved it for me over the course of 6 months.
The bad:
- It takes time to see positive effects. I would say you need to commit to using this daily for at least 3-6 months.
- Not everyone sees noticeable results. BUT, even without results, I find that applying it daily is helpful to strengthen lashes and prevent breakage long term.
2. Luminosity Eye Serum
The Luminosity Eye Serum is a fan favorite because it’s lightweight, cooling, and lessens puffiness around the eyes. A little goes a long way, so it’s an affordable option for people looking to reduce dark circle and under eye bags.
The good:
- Easy to apply and has a cooling effect.
- Great for sensitive skin. I’ve reacted to almost all of the eye serums I’ve tried except this one!
- Works to reduce puffiness around the eyes, which helps reduce the appearance of dark circles.
The bad:
- I don’t find this to be a great solution for aging skin. It doesn’t do anything to actually reverse fine lines and wrinkles. But, it does reduce the appearance of them by hydrating the skin.
3. Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Hyaluronic acid is a popular active skin care ingredient in serums, treatments, and even lip balm! Studies show it may improve skin elasticity and reduce skin roughness in as little as 2–8 weeks. Dime’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a simple serum with a concentrated dose of hyaluronic acid, making it an affordable option for people who want to reap the benefits.
The good:
- Affordable! Especially with a coupon code
- Great for all skin types
- An effective dose that keeps skin hydrated throughout the day
The bad:
- This is a very simple formulation. While it serves a specific purpose, I find it to be less effective than other serums that offer more active ingredients and results.
4. Perfumes
It is so hard to find a clean fragrance that isn’t loaded with questionable ingredients. Dime has nailed their Perfumes! The blends, wearability, and lasting power is unlike anything on the market currently. The most popular is Dans Les Bois®, but I love 7 Summers®.
The good:
- Clean, healthy fragrance option
- There are a variety of scents to choose from. None are overpowering or overly florally. I absolutely love 7 Summers®, which is a warm, creamy scent with hints of lavender and vanilla.
The bad:
- I honestly don’t have anything negative to say!
5. Blue Tansy Oil
Blue Tansy Oil launched in 2023 and has grown in popularity since. It’s a fabulous antioxidant-rich oil blend that helps to sooth skin and reduce inflammation. It’s great for sensitive skin, redness, and irritation. I love using this at night underneath a moisturizer.
The good:
- Easy to use and very nourishing
- Great for all skin types, including sensitive skin
- It contains an effective dose of blue tansy oil and other nourishing ingredients to effectively reducing redness and inflammation.
The bad:
- It can leave you feeling a bit more oily, especially if you have oily skin. People with acne-prone skin should do a spot test first!
What I Don’t Love
- Jelly Cleanser: This cleanser didn’t do it for me. It doesn’t foam up nicely and has a weird texture. It also has a smell I couldn’t get past. I prefer exfoliating cleansers and/or cream cleansers.
- Super Firm Serum: I don’t think this serum is worth the cost. There are very minimal active ingredients, and most people aren’t going to see any sort of firming effects from using this. Put your money elsewhere.
- Cleansing Balm: While I’m a fan of cleansing balms, the texture on this cleanser is off. It’s more waxy and doesn’t melt on the skin. It’s hard to use and leaves a thin layer of wax on the skin after you use it. I’d skip this.
Dime Beauty FAQs
Dime Beauty is known for providing clean and safe alternatives for traditional skincare and beauty products. They are 100% transparent and was the first company to show EWG ratings on each and every product page. The most popular products include the Eyelash Boost Serum, Perfumes, Luminosity™ Eye Serum, and Hyaluronic Acid Serum.
Tula and Dime Beauty both have a wide variety of skin care products made with active ingredients. While both claim to be clean beauty brands, Tula is not 100% clean as it does include Fragrance (Parfum) and PEGs in their products. Fragrance is a proprietary blend which could include known endocrine disruptors and carcinogens.
Yes, Dime makes specific products for acne and blemish-prone skin. The Acne Toning Serum, Acne Spot Treatment, and Power Patches all contain salicylic acid, which studies show can reduce acne and exfoliate the skin. Studies also show salicylic acid also helps decrease sebum production and has anti-inflammatory properties.
A few years ago, Dime Beauty partnered with some very popular beauty influencers to help promote their products. This is fairly common nowadays as it’s hard to stand out, especially in the clean beauty space. Apparently, in one of the sponsored reviews, a major beauty influencer pretended to apply the product on her face while wearing a full face of makeup, and made false claims about the products. Dime was open about the fact that they weren’t thrilled about this. While the controversy has passed, Dime Beauty seems to have handled it well and was clear they aren’t interested in fake reviews.
Is Dime Beauty Worth It?
In my opinion, yes. Here’s why I think some of the products are worth it after 12+ months of testing:
- Great for people new to clean beauty: Most of the products are entry-level, affordable, and easy to swap into your current routine. And they do sales! The best deal can be found on their website. Use coupon code NoelleT for 20% off any order.
- EWG certification: All of the products have the EWG score listed on their website.
- Large product selection: There’s quite a variety of skin care products, including lines for specific skin types, including acne-prone skin.
- Transparent: Dime is very clear about each and every ingredient that is in their products. There are no secrets about what you’re putting on your skin, and Dime’s commitment to only using safe ingredients is impressive.
- Active ingredients: Dime uses standard, widely-known safe active ingredients that are proven in the literature. My favorites include hyaluronic acid, blue tansy oil, squalene, and salicylic acid.
The Bottom Line
My Dime Beauty reviews only come after years of testing. I personally think they have some great entry level clean skin care options. They use common active ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, squalene, and salicylic acid, which offer noticeable results. None of the products contain added fragrance, and they are very transparent about the safety rating of the ingredients in each product.
I use Dime’s lash and brow serums daily, and the perfumes are my absolute favorite. If you give any of the recommended products above a try, you’ll likely have a great experience!
