Hey there!
I just wanted to post a comment about anxiety. I’m a clinical herbalist in Denver and while I loved all the suggestions in the episode for anxiety, I thought I would just post a few suggestions for in the moment relief (I have also suffered from anxiety and panic attacks and these two things work for me and my clients). The first thing I always recommend is L-Theanine. L-Theanine is an amino acid that crosses the blood brain barrier and is known for its mood regulating effects, it smooths out your brain waves and calms you down. It’s one of the main active ingredients in green tea. You can get it in capsule form and when you’re feeling that panic in your chest, open up a few under your tongue. Also, you can experiment with supplementing it. The second recommendation is to take kava lava or Passion flower tincture. It would be best to talk to an herbalist about your specific case to see which one and ensure that you aren’t on any medications that might be contraindicated, but both of these plants are huge allies for that heart/threat anxiety and panic. Plus, over time they will help you modulate your stress response. Anyways, I hope this helps and I’m happy to answer any questions you might have!
