This smooth and creamy bone broth hot chocolate recipe is delicious and nutrient dense. It’s made with a few simple ingredients and comes together in under 5 minutes. The perfect chocolatey way for the whole family to sip and enjoy bone broth!

Cook: 5Total: 5 minutes
Servings: 2 1x

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup chicken bone broth
  • 1 ½ cups milk of choice (coconut or regular milk works)
  • 3 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 23 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Toppings: marshmallows or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the bone broth to a light simmer.
  2. Mix: Add the milk, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to the saucepan and whisk until creamy and smooth.
  3. Serve: Pour the hot chocolate into two separate mugs. If desired, use a milk frother to make the hot chocolate nice and foamy. Serve with optional marshmallows or whipped cream on top. Sip and enjoy!

Notes

  1. I recommend using a chicken bone broth for this recipe without a ton of added herbs or seasoning.
  2. You can add 1 scoop of collagen peptides to the hot chocolate if desired. Just whisk it into the hot chocolate in the saucepan before serving.
  3. You can swap the maple syrup for honey, however it will be slightly sweeter.
  4. Add more cocoa powder to taste if you like it extra chocolatey.
  5. Want to make a single serving? Just cut the recipe in half!
